This calculator handles four Standard or Foundation subjects. For exemptions or language-in-lieu cases, use MOE’s guidance. Higher Mother Tongue is not added as a fifth subject.
How the score works
1. Find each AL
Standard subjects use AL1–AL8. Foundation A, B and C map to AL6, AL7 and AL8 for the total.
2. Add four subjects
The total ranges from 4 to 32. A lower total represents a stronger overall result.
3. Read the Posting Group
Some totals offer a choice of groups. For totals of 26–30, English and Mathematics must each be AL7 or better for PG1.
